We’ve recently put up some of my new Faves. In Places are pictures from Mexico where I went for my birthday! A peaceful, subdued, yet totally luxurious nature preserve and resort. Then of course snowy New England where I was for Christmas with family. In Music I added some of my favorite albums, not so new, but ones I highly recommend. The most recent Books I’ve read and recommend. Have a look around and check back for more updates about the two movies I did this fall, Beyond Paradise and Vanished! I loved ‘Wild’ by Cheryl Strayed. I highly recommend this book about a woman’s inner journey as she hikes from southern California to Oregon. Men who like the out of doors or physical challenges will like this book too as she writes of the everyday logistics on her extensive 1,000+ mile hike. Does she have enough food? Water? Can she carry the pack all the way? What’s the snow ahead?

Here are some pics I got behind the scenes at the MP reunion EW shoot. I LOVE our stand-ins, don’t you!?!? We had a blast! A few of us went for drinks right after…

So we did a Melrose Place photo shoot but I can’t tell you the magazine or show you pics from the actual set until it hits the stands—and I have plenty of pics behind the scenes because I got my daring makeup artist Jamie to stand on the sidelines and snap away w her phone! I’m allowed to post those early October when the issue hits the stands.. Good Morning America also interviewed us and that will air the same week. I’ll tweet it out.

BUT I CAN POST THESE… Some of us went out for drinks after the shoot. We went to The Culver Hotel in Culver city took over a corner and caught up.

The thing we kept saying was what a great time we had making the show, and how we wish we had appreciated it then as much as we do now. That is a lesson learned from growing up, living life, and yes, getting older. The 90′s were an innocent time to be on a tv show, it was fun, and there wasn’t the crazy paparazzi there is today, in fact the lot we filmed on barely had security! We loved seeing each other again though all our lives have gone in different directions, we all exchanged emails and phone numbers and vowed to stay in touch. OH, and Grant Show is sooo happy now. A newlywed, he’s mellowed and outgrown the bad mood he was in for those MP years! (he says it himself)

Paris has the Seine. London has the Thames. Los Angeles has, well, the much-neglected, largely anemic, eponymous Los Angeles River. “My first question was, ‘We have a river? You mean that cement thing?’ ” says actress and longtime environmental activist Zuniga, recalling what she said when the city’s Deputy Mayor Romel Pascual asked if she’d serve as a founding board member of the Los Angeles River Revitalization Corporation. The not-for-profit development group, which also counts UTA Foundation director Jones and film producer Jordan Kerner as board members, is seeking to make the river, which runs 51 miles from the San Fernando Valley’s Canoga Park to Long Beach, a continuous open space that’s central to the life of the city. It’s a bold plan that includes adding bike paths (nine miles already exist), turning industrial locales into parks, removing concrete to restore natural areas and creating mixed-use opportunities at abandoned buildings, and the nascent group needs funds. A private donor has stepped up with $4 million to build a pedestrian and bike bridge connecting Griffith Park and Atwater Village, due to break ground in six months, and the LARRC is calling attention to the river and its possibilities with its second annual kayak tours. Throughout the summer, close to 2,000 kayakers will paddle a 1.5-mile navigable stretch of the river in Encino. But in order for its next round of government funding to kick in, the LARRC needs to raise $1.5 million in operating funds, and soon. “It’s a project that could really move the needle for the whole city,” says board chair Chandler, a former TV exec and the son of the late Los Angeles Times publisher Otis Chandler. (His involvement represents a bit of history coming full circle — great-grandfather Harry was among the group of city patriarchs who benefited from an infamous land grab during the California water wars in the early 1900s.) Continues Chandler: “L.A. has fewer open spaces than any other great American city. It could make a difference for generations.”
